Platform/02/Payroll and pay stubs
02 Payroll and pay stubs
Hours, commission and overtime that agree with each other.
The pay run pulls hours from the beacon time clock or ConnectTeam, commissions from the locked sheet, and applies FLSA regular-rate overtime for commissioned staff. Compliance flags surface to a manager queue before the run. Stubs go to the phone, get signed, and the period locks. What the provider paid is reconciled back to what was calculated.

02 Where the hours come from
Three sources, one dedup key,
no double days.
Beacon time clock
Punches from the in-house clock carry their source and reason: beacon, geofence, manual with POS evidence, auto clock-out at shift end, silence or end of day. Day totals are computed per session, so a split shift pays correctly.
ConnectTeam and POS timesheets
Dealers on ConnectTeam import timesheets on a schedule; a POS timesheet collector covers the rest. A fallback chain resolves which store a punch belongs to when the source is ambiguous.
One row per person per day
Entries are deduplicated on the employee ID and the work date across sources, the market is backfilled from the store master overnight, and the run reads only the sources the dealer group has chosen.
03 Compliance queue
Flags a manager clears
before the run, not after.
| Flag | Employee | Detail | Resolution | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum wage | L. Marchetti, Paterson | 32.0 h at $15.75 plus commission falls under the state floor for the week. | Backfill to the state minimum, logged as a compliance adjustment. | Needs approval |
| Missing hourly rate | New hire, Bayonne | Rate history has no row effective before the first punch. | HR adds the rate with an effective date; the run recalculates. | Blocking |
| Overtime threshold | R. Anand, Edison | 46.0 hours scheduled versus 40 worked plus 6 OT; regular rate includes $1,588 commission. | Premium computed on the regular rate; nothing to do. | Informational |
| Late punch | J. Petrov, Hoboken | Clock-in 09:14 against a 09:00 shift, third time this period. | Punctuality feeds the qualified-commission component where enabled. | Noted |
| Auto-break | M. Delgado, Jersey City | Eight-hour day with no break punch; the configured unpaid break was applied. | Rep can dispute from the stub if the break was worked. | Applied |
| Orphan store code | Timesheet import | A punch references a store code not in the store master. | Mapped through the store authorization table or rejected. | Needs mapping |
Sample queue. State rules are scoped per store location; the run cannot lock with a blocking flag open.

05 Locks, ledgers and the provider
Locked means locked.
Paid means reconciled.
Period lock
Once a period is approved, retroactive edits are refused by the service layer. Corrections post to the next open period with the original approver inherited and the reason kept.
Ledgers
Negative weeks carry over; deductions are a ledger against the earner; scheduled future pays apply themselves when their date arrives. None of it is an edit to a locked row.
Provider reconciliation
The provider's register is imported and matched line by line against the calculated run. A shadow run lets finance compare a rule change against the live run before switching.
Narrative and reports
A period narrative in prose a manager will read, scheduled-versus-worked by store, labor against sales with variance colouring, and cost per activation by door.
